So long story short over the last week during this trial separation we stopped eating out and I stopped cooking for her (among other things I did like laundry but now let her do her own). I am not only the breadwinner but I’ve been the primary caretaker of the children as she’s been in nursing school or working crazy hours for most of the last 7 years. She wants to stay together for companionship (which we’re good at) and forego the sexual nature (which we’re not so good at). Married 19 years, 2 kids 4 and 11, house, bills, the works. Divorce is on the table, and we currently have an informal live-in “trial separation” going.
